We are pleased to announce the launch of the Digital MATSUMOTO Lab website. On this site, we introduce— as clearly as possible— the ideas that guide Digital MATSUMOTO Lab, how Digital MATSUMOTO was created and developed, and the kinds of initiatives and activities we have undertaken so far.

Digital MATSUMOTO Lab is deeply interested in the relationship between humans and AI, where both grow by influencing each other through dialogue. Our goal is not simply to build convenient AI. Rather, we explore—through both practice and research—how human knowledge, ways of thinking, and everyday trial and error can be incorporated into AI, and how that process, in turn, leads to human reflection and growth in a continuous cycle.

The website also introduces our work in developing AI that can engage in human-like dialogue, AI architectures and operations designed for sustained everyday use, AI governance, and our activities as technical advisors. We also plan to gradually share more information about our communications and achievements related to Digital MATSUMOTO.

Rather than showcasing flashy highlights, we hope this site conveys what we think about, what we experiment with, and how we steadily build our work over time. We would be happy if it offers small hints or inspiration—not only for those interested in AI, but also for those still figuring out how to approach and use it.
